Assessment and examinations

Phase tests, terminal examinations, grading and reporting to parents.

The assessment cycle

Assessment runs continuously through the year rather than arriving only at its end:

  • Class work and homework — checked and recorded by the subject teacher.
  • Phase tests — short, regular tests covering recently taught topics.
  • Terminal examinations — formal examinations held according to the published date sheet.
  • Board examination — taken at Matriculation under the relevant education board.

Report cards

Report cards are issued after each terminal examination. They show subject marks, the grade awarded, an attendance summary and the class teacher's remarks on conduct and application. Report card formats and the grading scheme are set by the Directorate and applied identically across campuses.

Parent-teacher meetings

A parent-teacher meeting follows each terminal examination. Parents meet subject teachers, see the marked scripts and agree what needs to change before the next term. Attendance at these meetings is expected, not optional.

Promotion

Promotion to the next class depends on performance across the year together with attendance. Where promotion is in doubt, parents are informed well before the end of the session so that there is time to act.

Results

Detailed results, marks and attendance records for individual students are private. They are shared with parents at meetings, on the report card, and — once the school portal is live — through a secure parent login. They are never published on this website.
