We Promote Islamic Traditions

Background and purpose

Al-Badr Education Trust was founded in Gujranwala in 1989. Its founders held a conviction that has shaped everything the Trust has done since: that the difficulties facing the Muslim community are, at their root, difficulties of knowledge.

The first word revealed to the Prophet was a command to read. Yet over time an understanding took hold in many quarters that Islam is satisfied by recitation and prayer alone. That understanding is incomplete. A community cannot preserve its faith, its dignity or its independence in the modern world without knowledge, technology and skill. Islam is a religion of peace and of enquiry, and for a thousand years its scholars led the world in both.

Recovering that inheritance requires an educational effort, not a slogan. It was with that responsibility in mind that Al-Badr Education Trust was established: to build institutions that prepare a generation capable of leading, serving and reforming — in their own homes first, and in wider society after that.

What the Trust does

The Trust owns and governs the Al-Badr Schools campuses in Gujranwala. Its Board of Trustees is responsible for the direction, standards and financial stewardship of those institutions, and appoints the Directorate that oversees their day-to-day management.

The Trustees serve voluntarily. They include physicians, academics, professionals and religious scholars from Gujranwala, and they meet to review academic performance, staffing, finances and the development of the campuses.

Our mission

To establish and sustain educational institutions in which Islamic character and contemporary knowledge are developed together, and which remain accessible to the families of the communities they serve.

Our vision

An educational revolution, built patiently and school by school, that answers the educational, ethical and social difficulties facing the Muslim community — and produces people equipped to lead others toward peace and progress.

Our objectives

  • To operate schools that meet a high academic standard while remaining firmly rooted in Islamic values.
  • To make quality education available to families in the neighbourhoods the Trust serves.
  • To develop teachers as professionals, and to hold them to the standards of the trust placed in them.
  • To govern the institutions transparently, with proper financial control and accountability.
  • To expand the Trust's educational work as resources responsibly allow.

The Directorate

The Directorate, or Head Office, is located at Asad Colony, Khiali Sheikhupura, Gujranwala. It is the administrative centre of the Trust and coordinates admissions policy, academic standards, staffing and finance across the campuses.

The Directorate is not a school. Parents with campus-specific questions — timings, homework, attendance, fees or a particular teacher — should contact the relevant campus directly.

Chairman's message
Assalam-o-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. The Ummah today faces a crisis that is, at its root, a crisis of knowledge. We have narrowed our understanding of Islam to recitation and prayer alone, while the Quran's very first command was to read. A community that abandons learning cannot survive in a world built on knowledge, technology and skill.Al-Badr Education Trust was founded in 1989 out of a sense of responsibility toward that reality. Our purpose...
